10th Annual Art-In-Action Summer Experience at enFAMILIA in Deep South Dade County, Florida!
Full-Time Volunteer Teaching Artists for a 7-week commitment (June 4-July 22, 2012)
ASTEP is recruiting 8 performing/visual artists to teach at our 6-week Art-In-Action Summer Intensive for middle and high school students. Volunteer teaching artists will work collaboratively to create and implement a unique curriculum that uses the arts to explore family relationships and cultural values in order to enrich the quality of life for local youth. Applicants must be comfortable with living communally, long days, and improvisation. Applicants will be on-site 5-days a week, 8-hours a day during the 6-week program (June 4-July 22, 2012) and will arrive 1 week in advance to train and plan workshops. Room and board will be covered, and volunteer teaching artists will be provided with a small stipend. Applications are currently being accepted.
Part-Time Volunteer Guest Teaching Artists for a 2-week commitment (between June 4-July 22, 2012)
ASTEP is recruiting 8 performing/visual artists to provide 2-week master classes for our Art-In-Action Summer Intensive for middle and high school students. Aside from the master classes, guest artists will assist the full-time teaching artists and perform for the community. Applicants must be comfortable with living communally, long days, and improvisation. Applicants will be on-site 5-days a week, 8-hours a day during their 2-week commitment. (June 4-July 22, 2012). Room and board will be covered. Guest artists will be responsible for fundraising the cost of their transportation to and from Florida. Applications are currently being accepted.

Refugee Youth Summer Academy in Brooklyn, NY with the International Rescue Committee!
Full-Time Volunteer Teaching Artist for a 6-week commitment (July 9-August 17, 2012)
ASTEP is recruiting 9 performing/visual artists to teach at the 6-week Refugee Youth Summer Academy presented in collaboration with ASTEP and the International Rescue Committee. Volunteer teaching artists will work collaboratively to create and implement a unique curriculum that uses the arts to build English language proficiency, self-confidence, and school readiness. Applicants need to be comfortable working with English Language Learners. Applicants will be on-site 2-3 days a week, 4-hours a day during the six-week program (July 9-August 17,2012). Travel expenses and a modest stipend are provided. Applications are currently being accepted.
On-Site Administrator for an 8-week commitment (June 25-August 17, 2012)
ASTEP is recruiting 1 On-Site Administrator (OSA) to manage the 6-week Refugee Youth Summer Academy presented in collaboration with ASTEP and the International Rescue Committee. The OSA will oversee curriculum development and coordinate the workshops/classes to ensure program objectives are met. ASTEP is seeking applicants with management and organizational skills. The OSA will be on-site 4-days a week, 6-hours a day, during the 6-week program (July 9-August 17,2012) and will spend two weeks planning and evaluating the program. A most stipend is provided. Summer Arts Camp at the Incarnation Children’s Center in Washington Heights, NY!
Full-Time Volunteer Teaching Artist for a 4-week commitment (August 1-31, 2012)ASTEP is recruiting 4 performing/visual artists to teach at the 4-week Summer Arts Camp presented in collaboration with ASTEP and the ICC. Teaching artists will work collaboratively to create and implement a unique curriculum that uses the arts to develop life skills and build self-confidence. Applicants will be on-site 5 days a week, 4-hours a day, during the 4-week summer camp (August 6-August 31, 2012). Travel expenses provided. Applications are currently being accepted.
Part-Time Volunteer Guest Teaching Artists for a 1-week commitment
ASTEP is recruiting 4 performing/visual artists to provide master classes at the 4-week Summer Arts Camp presented in collaboration with ASTEP and the ICC. Homework Helpers (ongoing)
The Incarnation Children’s Center is seeking patient and affable volunteers willing to provide homework help 3-hours a week on an ongoing basis. Residents are studying middle and high school level material and are in need of tutoring in all academic subjects. Applicants can set their own schedule. Applications are currently being accepted.
Mentors for Male Students (ongoing)
The Incarnation Children’s Center is seeking positive male role models to mentor male teen residents. Applicants must commit to at least 3-hours a week on an ongoing basis. Mentors can spend time interacting with students on or off-site. Applicants can set their own schedule. Applications are currently being accepted.
